Highwaymen

February 7, 2010 - 10:22 pm No Comments

I thought about throwing my pennies on in this film. It is an hour and fifteen minutes long - not just “filler” feeling some movies have, so do not take his whole night if not to their liking. For me - I enjoyed it.

It’s a bit disturbing at times is a bit tacky, and yes, the plot has a lot of holes Highwaymen in it (not too long I think of these - for example, why a “desk job” accident investigator participate on their own?), but “accidents” are very impressive (if you’ll pardon the pun) and godsend to have seen last night, felt like a breath of fresh air.

Seen all the movies of the time, and then give it a spin! But do not blame me if I do not.

Planet Terror

For us it was the second of the Grind-double house of Rodriguez and Tarantino, we really enjoyed the movie Death Proof and gave us an idea of what to expect here in this retro style horror Zombie. Pleasantly Planet Terror does not let you down, Rodriguez gets in this space, the story is classic in all aspects, acting, sets, dialogue and most of all the pure ridiculousness of many scenes! The story follows Wray (Freddy Rodriguez) and his ex-Cherry (Rose McGowan), as a group of local residents struggling to survive a zombie bio venture creation is released into the air.

The action is perfect for the style and genre, and the pace is fast and action-packed keeps you connected at all. Planet Terror is not even close to shock modern day terror, but contains a lot of blood and should appeal to a variety of potential viewers, however, I suspect that fans of the classic zombie movies will appreciate more! This film is full of stars, and includes cameos by Tarantino himself and Bruce Willis.

Filled with action, gore and a lot of zombie classic Crazy Fun. Nice 8 / 10. 4 Stars.

The Incredibles

I was not sure about this, but I thought it would be fun! As a result, kept us enthralled for 2 retirees all afternoon!

The animation is excellent and there were no doubt references to James Bond, Superman, Star Wars, Spiderman, etc. The colors were wonderful. A very pleasant way to spend a Friday night.

Only a minor carp on levels of sound - I had my hand permanently on the remote control as some of the scenes were very noisy, but others too quiet if the sound was turned down. Hopefully there will be some follow-up - Incredibles Incredibles II or new, etc.?

Superman Returns

Why this movie could have been, I fear that this movie full grabage a big disappointment. Why ……. Here are some observations WARNING: Spoliers before so do not read if you want to see movie 1) None of the crew ill Luther speak?

Is this an attempt to keep costs down? 2) Superman has now become a marriage of demolition stalker spying on Lois at home and work place 3) What was the smell that the sequence of finishing especially invlolving Kryptonite.

Superman kicked the rear by a brave old gentleman and his cronnies when hes standing on a piece of kryptonite, but then suddenly everything can break the Kryptonite island sea travel outside and return to orbit. Do not tell me cos I was a bit mad!

4) What is done in a hospital superman !!!!! Say no more! 5) Jimmy was a choice of poor quality and even their funny lines that were poorly delivered did not move a chuckle 6) Why Junior Superman can throw a piano in a room, but not open a freezer door when his mother asks too?

Problem tempting, just like his old man? 7) Kate Bosworth is a patch of any Lois Lane. He was also very unpleasant to CK then in the previous films.

9) When in the boat, why the villain for playing the piano with Lois’s son one minute, then Lois is trying to send a fax (as do the kidnapping), discovers villain then try to crush the head of Lois with a rock? It seems pretty drastic 10) Im sorry, but the CGI is terrible. The fly-bys near Superman were poor at best.

Final Fantasy: Spirits Within anyone … 11) Lois conveniently forgets his mobile phone when riding in a boat villain! Hhmmmm 12) The way Lex crew die is pure laziness (ie

a large rock fell on them all) All in all massive plot holes, poor acting and bad CGI made this one of the worst movies I’ve seen in a long time. Sorry Bryan, but not a patch on X1 or X2 (even worse than the X3 ….

which is saying something!)
