Elephant

Elephant looks good. It shot well and the work style of the camera is very clever in parts. But unfortunately this can not compensate the tedious hours of mind-numbing silence and near constant cameras following people around 10 minutes walk meaning that you will have to bear if you look at this.
Elephant basically has nothing to it. Apparently the film plane, the struggle against the emotional tone is supposed to hight the effect of what is actually happening by the end of the film.
To be honest, I really do not care at that moment that I had found myself staring at the cracks in the wall or anything that is mildy more entertaining than this. The film simply does not work.
I think I will give new Gus Van Sant’s effort a failure.
