Children Of The Corn

Children Of The Corn There are some very good movies based on Stephen King’s work. Dolores Claiborne, Salem’s Lot and Carrie come to mind. However, there are also some not so great movie, based on his work and Creepshow 2.

And then there are the movies based on stories that fall in the middle right, and this film, based on a story about the book Night Shift, is one of them. It has so much potential, so much promise, but ultimately does not offer enough.

Solid performances all around. Some very cool moments, including an unforgettable opening.

An excellent score. The direction, though not spectacular, is still pretty good. Fritz Kiersch at least get good results from his cast and is able to invoke a few chills along the road.

Some visual effects are quite good. But ……

The pace is slow at times. It’s not as scary as it could have been.

The final visual effects are laughable. It’s worth seeing, but do not kid yourself.

Withnail And I

I asked Withnail and I expected something like the little ones but with much higher production values and a greater reliance on a strong plot. However, despite sharing the same universe severely disordered (the kitchen sink hidden under piles of detritus encrusted food, the use of Deep Heat as a substitute for central heating, etc.), and the performances impress, I felt that the Withnail And I the film lacks a certain spark. As a result he found the characters (to me anyway) as the sad losers trapped by their own limitations, and never really committed to their concerns and challenges.

Or maybe s just that I’ve seen this movie several years too late and would have enjoyed more time during my life miserable cellar.

The key to this success is sublime film characters, all of which are a real joy to see. They acted with full zeal for relatively new, such as Richard E Grant and Paul McGann.

Sometimes films are written by people who lived through the time and this shows in every scene in this film, the clich’que until they could do ‘rather than applied, and I can not think of anything I do in my last days in the ground to pass 2 hours watching this movie with cider and a Camberwell zanahoria’puede utalise up to 12 skins and requires a craftsman). Every line is decent single-quote and once you come into your head does not leave.

I watch this film at least once a month and have done over the past two years after the first discoverng, which can be a witness to my sad life, but also shows how good this film really is, is the same.
