Churchill - The Hollywood Years

November 3, 2009 - 5:17 pm No Comments

As a concept that you can see why this movie could have made a success - creating a ‘cult’ classic fun of the Royal Family, the Nazis and British stereotypes all in the name of irony. However, the sheer and utter nonsense that has passed as a script means that there Churchill - The Hollywood Years so little fun for the whole thing. Moreover, failure to use such great British comedy talent - from the likes of Harry Enfield, Reeves and Mortimer, to say nothing of Rik Mayall is nothing short of ridiculous.

A complete waste of time and effort, people just laugh people the income from it.

This film has everything …. I mean everything. Great actors, great script …..

it’ll make you laugh and it’ll make you mourn. It’s pure genius. Let’s name some of the actors in this film!

Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Gary Oldman, Dennis Hopper, Val Kilmer, Christopher Walken, Brad Pitt, Samuel L. Jackson …..

blah, blah, blah, the list goes on. Now do not misunderstand me.

Many of these names known only a few minutes on screen, but trust me when I say that these are a few minutes …. well …. genius.

My personal favorite True Romance is a scene of Walken and Hopper (I do not want to ruin it, I could not )…. but it really is something special.

This film is a series of remembered quote (and if you can not remember that he was learning to tell your friends )….. honestly, you will. The theme song of the movie is perfect.

You are guaranteed to recognize it. Hans Zimmer!

I friend introduced me to this film and when I presented to you, I hope, but know that secretly submitted to the other. It’s simply ….. genius!

Alone In The Dark

Now I am a big fan of Christian Slater. Great in “Heathers” and “In the Name of the Rose” Hell I have a soft sport for the young gun 2. I have seen in the West End version of “One Flew Over the cuckoos nest” and when the material is good that this man can act in earnest! But he and everyone else, is incredibly bad in this movie seriously.

I have a list of the worst movies every made, and “Alone in the Dark” Alone In The Dark has done in the first 5 … that bad! There is absolutely nothing to recommend seeing this film unless you are either a) a masochist or b) is really interested to see how a movie shouldn’t be! After this and “House of the Dead” I truly believe that Uwe Boll is playing a big joke in Hollywood, surely someone could possibly get out of their way to deliberately do something this bad without knowing exactly what they were doing! Terrible terrible terrible !!!!!!!!
