Let The Devil Wear Black

March 11, 2010 - 12:29 am No Comments

Something is rotten in the state of California. In the wake of the death of his father, the unconscious, melancholy Jack (Penner - LAST SUPPER) reluctantly puts the crown and the installation of the bad habits of the family empire - a poor but profitable entertainment in Los Angeles adult franchise.

However, Jack suspects that his greedy uncle (Sheridan - CRADLE Let The Devil Wear Black WILL ROCK) and mother (Bisset - DANGEROUS BEAUTY) are behind the untimely demise of his father - a greater suspicion for its announcement to immediately marry her father is buried. Jack’s Quest for the truth puts him in danger of death and on the verge of self-destruction in this action-packed, neo-noir reinterpretation of Hamlet.

Spellbound

I have to admit that the prospect of seeing a group of pubescent American children make their way through spelling lists have me drooling with anticipation, despite the positive reaction from critics. And yet, this movie grabbed me!

I found compelling, poignant and full of humour. What could have been an easy target for mockery becomes a study is surprising that the participation of middle America as we follow eight contestants through the rigors of a national spelling bee. There are moments of absurdity and eccentricity; real belly-busting laughter and a true tenderness. The overall result is attractive without being sentimental pap. It’s an amazing story and very watchable.

That’s “stop watch” see-…….

Where The Heart Is

Where The Heart Is is a wonderful film. I love seeing this kind of music because the characters are so real and the story is charming enough to keep watching.

Its the kind of thing that appears on television in the evening and occasionally on the surface as is the story of Aman who loses everything and see what’s important is a Littl Emore that. Uma Thurman and Suzy Amis make a couple of crazy sisters, Dabney Coleman plays on this side of the bank and adding to an hour and a half well spent. Everything has a great attention to detail and I enjoyed it and was pleasantly surprised by how well it turned out to be.

Neverwhere - The Complete Series

Neverwhere - The Complete Series The story is excellent and the book is worth reading, but the series is a bit disappointing, though I imagine it would be very difficult to do in a movie. Paterson Joseph makes a good portrait of the Marquis of Carabas, and while not imagined, Russell Bennett and performed well as croup and Vandeman as well as several of the other characters. However, Hunter was very well cast and wood and a habit of carrying around a spear ridiculous that they got used and it was like weapons that are made of paper mache in the nursery.

The series is obviously low budget, but that’s not a problem and may actually contribute a little charm. Although many of the sets and effects are very dated and a bit tasteless.

Do not miss this series, if you ever have the chance to see it. Absolutely gorgeous, as “I Claudius”, this short series combines high-quality writing, acting, direction, costumes to generate a sense of participation of human emotions and politics that have influenced the world.

Despite its small budget, an aura of grandeur Stronge creates makes you feel the power of the characters, but never beyond that were real people manage difficult life, powerful and dangerous. Glenda Jackson is impressive, increasing 16 years of age at the naive princess decidedly stately old queen with all the drama that bring no history books to life. I’ll buy this set.

Traffik

January 1, 2010 - 12:30 am No Comments

TRAFFIK is 5 1 / 2 hour miniseries that provided the basis for Stephen Soderbergh’s Oscar, winning film TRAFFIC, and its length provides the production with the opportunity to delve into the drug trade and addiction, so it is complete one more film that its Hollywood incarnation. TRAFFIK has three stories: one is an exceptional look at the poppy fields and heroin cartels in Pakistan, where the beauty of the poppy fields is juxtaposed with the poverty of the neighborhoods inhabited by workers who harvest crops .

Another takes place in England and starring Julia Ormond as the drug addict 16-year-old daughter of British minister Jack Lithgow (Bill Paterson) and represents Traffik the depths of heroin addiction. The third star Lindsay Duncan as the wife of a wealthy drug dealer from Germany who has just been arrested, shattering the pretensions of upper-class life and takes her to continue trade from her husband.

Finally, these three different stories linked together by two narcotics agents and Ulli German named Dieter, who, along with a series of e, are a very disturbing the way that heroin travels from Pakistan to Europe. Intricately detailed and emotionally devastating TRAFFIK miniseries is a fascinating background that sometimes surpasses the excellence of its American cousin.

This release contains additional material not found in the transmission of PBS Masterpiece Theater.

The Wonder Of Sex

December 30, 2009 - 5:50 pm No Comments

The Wonder Of Sex This story of two young teenagers who “have sex” like others who study butterflies is a nice little comedy that provides good and honest light-hearted entertainment, nothing more, nothing less. What it is: a warm comedy jolly well played by both the young actors and a multitude of more or less known supporters of the adult, a look at one of the early 60 USA world small town before emancipation and liberalization, a film about sex without nudity exprimantation open or not thereofWhat representation: a sex film! It seems unfortunate that the title sounds like another portion of the porn industry that clearly does not belong. I also wonder why so much effort was in a movie about young adolescents fortunately avoids representing their sexual experiments, but is full of strong sexual language and therefore ends up being classed as adult film loses its target audience is.

The actors do their best, but the script and direction could have made this a film that stands out. In this way a film is average, but still worth seeing if only for the warm and empathic deals with this complicated subject. There there extras on this DVD whatsoever. My verdict: Enjoy the movie and not be fooled for the title.

Twilight Zone, The - Season 1

December 30, 2009 - 6:47 am No Comments

I agree with others here. After seeing the first two episodes only had to stop.

Not only the quality horrible (which is largely directed at you Bruce Willis), the story and the scripts were terrible. This is more like a half-baked Eerie Indiana to what I expected. The second episode is Twilight Zone, The - Season 1 very similar to children’s television program ‘Look Bernards “in which the main character can stop time.

But the first episode is well and truly takes the prize. Bruce Willis, obviously had this before finding a Yellow Pages and search for acting classes.

In my honest opinion would not bother renting this if I were you.

Gone In 60 Seconds

December 11, 2009 - 1:23 pm No Comments

I’ve seen two versions of this film, back to back, albeit in the wrong order. Cage’s latest film was, in my opinion, entertaining, but weak.

There were plenty Nice engine, yet the film does not really seem to be about cars. Halicki original film, on the other hand, is all about the wheels.

Well, the quality is terrible, but that none of the people in the movie were actually actors, this can be forgiven. In any case, the Gone In 60 Seconds the lack of dialogue is only the viewer’s attention focuses on vehicles and driving - in the first 40 minutes drive from Chase not less than 90 vehicles in the totals. The other element that makes this film special is that during the chaos and carnage of persecution, are actually the emergency services at work, trying to care for the innocent bystanders caught up in the wake.

If you like noisy car chases and a lot of accidents, you’ll love this movie! Of course you do!
