The Punisher

February 28, 2010 - 5:53 am No Comments

A very trite story, which was much better done in “Darkman” or the first “Mad Max”. Very slow to get into the action (almost a quarter of the film shows what a happy family, that is) and the script was terrible.

If this had been reduced to little more than an hour and was the pilot for a series of low budget television might have been acceptable as a big-budget movie screen is not. It said ‘X-Men’ is a lesson in how to adapt Marvel to the big screen - if that is so, then unfortunately “The Punisher” is a lesson in how not to.

Well I will lower my gallery now ….

The Punisher

Overall a good effort, but not an A-List winner. Thomas Jane is very, very good as Frank Castle and the action set pieces are very well handled, especially credible and very exciting. But John Travolta is on autopilot - not bad as such, not just try really hard.

The film loses its status of great success due to its uneven tone. The director can not seem to decide if he is making a brave revenge thriller or a more conventional comic book tongue-in cheek and sadly this adaptation from one to another and back to say that not to be. I liked, but that it still considered “almost”.

Get a better, more courageous director to make a sequel and would be a success.

S.W.A.T.

S.W.A.T. You know what to expect before hiring, which is, of course, no action, brain and head knuckle machismo. But is not that the point? Sometimes we need some testosterone pumping of drool to see and not having to think.

Well, it made me feel better anyway and if this movie had turned to be touching and sensitive I think it would be very disappointed right now! As is, this bog-standard action movie, lacking in plot and substance (which for the Top Gun ‘Noughties’ but not so good!), I feel recharged and ready to begin to see and appreciate an original material and we expect significant again (at least until the check or the next Jackie Chan movie!). These weavers of money continue to be done and still put (men) burns on seats, maintaining the equilibrium currently threatened by the huge amount of DVDs available tasteless chicken.

Just watch and enjoy it for what it is or do not bother!

Spider-Man 2

Spider-Man 2 Superhero with incredible powers - the ability to spider - a broad scope for a blockbuster film. I’m with you so far, let’s play this.

Opening Sequence … well I’m yawning. There may be better. The character is portrayed as a complete bonehead who could not find the path of a paper bag let alone save a city of 4 twisted-mechanical genius poorly armed.

The “love” thread of the story is ridiculous, with the girl (forgot her name already!) That shows itself as inconsistent and can not: make-up-my-dang-mind as you please. To end this (and I have said more than he deserves already, but I want to warn others of sitting through the tragic experience I had) - if you like super heroes - out of the series X-Men — are 10 times better.

Or rent Bambi - still have a better time. Carey

It is unfortunate that this film was overshadowed by the bigger box office draws this summer because it’s actually much better than you might think. Kathy Bates does a good performance as an aging talk show host, Holly Hunter is the producer of the show “it’s reaching a certain age and realizes that she needs to move up the scale, or at least leave a lasting impression . The evil side Little Black Book it chooses the second, and the story begins when she takes the new associate producer, Brittany Murphy under his wing, to persuade her to delve into her boyfriend’s PDA to find out about her previous lovers.

As the old saying … careful what you seek only to find it! Ok, Brittany Murphy is no Meryl Streep, but it makes for great eye candy and the end is priceless!

The Forgotten

The Forgotten During the first half of this film, despite a slow start at the beginning, I was overwhelmed. The concept of a woman who discovers that her son never was - is fascinating and frightening. Then she meets a man who has “forgotten” your child and so on …

Just to be completely unusable by the ancient history of alien abduction. Sorry guys - can not you have thought of something a little more original than that? A worldwide conspiracy?

A parallel reality? Some strangers, mental illness is contagious?

When I told my partner I thought foreigners were involved, said ‘No, I would not. That would be silly. ”

Well guess what? They did the fool.

How depressingly unoriginal. For a very good * * sci-fi/mystery thriller, I recommend ‘October’.

This is a sequel as good as expected. The action is non stop, with performances by the entire cast, the deaths that are crisp and the story even know where to go closer to the computer game from the first movie is not all bad. A third is probably Installment in the pipeline, so fingers crossed for a release date is imminent.

I have to admit that there is a moment in this film where not laughing uncontrollably, like a small child. Desired English pilot, in German Hitler mad scientist obsessed with rockets, the U.S. president morally corrupt, but liberal, this is beautifully done, ironic and sarcastic humor. Not make you laugh yourself silly, is more Doctor Strangelove of laughter underestimated those in power during the Cold War.

But if it does not hit the funny bone, then it probably is a right wing politician with no sense of sarcasm. The best moment has to be a discussion of “breeding partners” by the German scientist Sellers, who is possibly the most pointless argument in the history of cinema.

Charlie’s Angels 1976: Big hair, Farrah Fawcett, Charlie’s silver tongue, capers, high kicks and flashing guns. Charlie’s Angels 2003: tight around behind Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu in leather Drew Barrymore in a wig, no plot, no laughs, and did I mention tight around Cameron Diaz behind. This was terrible.

Terrible. Beyond the pail.

The first was bad enough, but this takes the biscuit. There Charlie s Angels: Full Throttle much of, though attractive, entertainers parading around in bathing suits and shorts.

Demi Moore should know better, and it’s no wonder Bruce Willis maintained its participation credits. Director McG clear that it would again make MTV and music videos, but can you believe someone has given him the next “Superman” film live??? Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle - Avoid.
