Hellraiser: Inferno

November 5, 2009 - 9:05 am No Comments

Hellraiser: Inferno The signs do not look good for Hellraiser: Inferno - though not the title as such this release directly to the video is actually Hellraiser 5, and now the only remaining link with the original movies is Doug Bradley as Pinhead. Rather surprisingly, then, this actually turns out to be the best film from Hellraiser Hellraiser 2: Hellbound. Wisely, the film is very light for continuity, so you can enjoy without knowing the details of the last 4 movies.

The basic plot concerns a detective investigating a murder dubious morality, and his attempt to save the life of a child is hit by a path in the box Lament Configuration puzzle of a mysterious entity known as “The Engineer”. The first half of the film is well shot, but rather slow for regular series, such as investigations of the detectives only discovered the material on the Cenobites we already know.

The second half is better though, as the story gradually turns into a race of the mill murderer research series in a study of nature’s own detective: This film is less of Pinhead and co cutting a group of adolescents, and an examination travel of a man in hell - a warning that the cuts in the heart of the philosophy of physical gratification cenobites at the expense of humanity. It’s not perfect, but it is refreshing to the United Nations, a sequel formula for low budget horror, has a great picture, from new Cenobites, and a clear David Lynch (especially Lost Highway) feels.

A worthy sequel.

One Tree Hill - Season 1

August 8, 2009 - 1:29 am No Comments

Being the kind of person who likes anything to do with the high schools of America, where One Tree Hill through the door I was just waiting to see that. I love the OC and had read a comment that says if you liked the CO you love One Tree Hill.

So I started to see the pilot and became instantly addicted. This series has to be one of the most complex and richly written TV I’ve seen in a long time. Focusing initially on two half brothers, one who has everything and one who has nothing, is intense and realistic.

However, as the series progresses the sample One Tree Hill - Season 1 move to deal with all the real problems faced by any teenager in modern society, pressure for sex, casual sex and the inherent risks, peer pressure, family pressure, the list goes on. One of the best features of this show is that it is a bittersweet mixture of serious and fun - see the episode where Haley, the most awkward person on the planet, becomes a cheerleader for a day. Unmissable.

On the other side of the coin are the episodes that Lucas is in the hospital. Overall, absolutely riveting stuff, and very addictive. I recommend this to anyone who likes to organized crime and shows how it is.

You will not regret it.
