Chancer - The Complete Series 1

March 13, 2010 - 1:18 am No Comments

I saw this series when first broadcast in 1990, so I was really looking forward to seeing again. I am happy to say that is just as good if not better than I remembered.

Set in Thatcher’s Britain, the story and characters did not come at all. The cast is excellent and stronger than I remembered - it’s great to see Stephen Tompkinson, Susannah Harker and Chancer - The Complete Series 1 Sean Pertwee early in his career giving excellent support to a convincing Clive Owen. Another bonus is seeing Leslie Phillips in a serious quality paper - which is in good shape with some bright lines you just made laugh out loud.

I enjoyed watching this series again so I have decided to buy the DVD. It makes you realize how television is today’s poor in comparison.

Joan Of Arcadia - The First Season

March 10, 2010 - 12:08 pm No Comments

Joan Of Arcadia - The First Season Joan of Arcadia is one of the best shows of recent years, is brilliantly written, with some fantastic quality. He received Emmy nominations: Outstanding Drama Series and Best Leading Actress (for the excellent Amber Tamblyn).

Although Joan is the title character in some ways it is his whole family, linked with his father (a policeman), mother and two brothers (one disabled) and their friends at school. God gives instructions to seem strange to Joan, who in turn have a positive impact. Religion is not pushed on the viewer, not scorned, the show is no sermon, but does not discuss in depth the moral issues, and can sometimes become very emotional.

Highly recommended.

Poltergeist The Legacy - Season 1

Poltergeist The Legacy - Season 1 I recently read all three reviews in this series and I have to disagree completely! It’s rubbish! The first five minutes on Disc 1 and I was surprised at how bad it was all!

Actors shit shit and special effects. He gave me a chance, but although he never became more interested. Remember when you used to go to your local video store to rent a VHS or DVD and you wanted was always rented by someone else?

There was always a dubious left that was always there and always wondered if it was good? Well that’s all, and believe me it’s not good!

It’s shit! Not that I’m in RAM that is bad in the throat.

It is only after seeing the 4400 series that I am totally disappointed. Good idea of the special effects, actors and shit shit!

24 - Season 5

Fast paced, very well filmed and acted - except for Chloe. I know he’s destined to be a fan of the computer and maybe Mary Lynn Rajskub is for interpretation by Asperger but she makes Chloe looks like it belongs in the nursery, especially his “thinking” face - women stop twitching!

He saw the seasons 1 to 4 - Yes, some of us out there! I’m afraid I’ve never been good with weeks of waiting to see the end. However, my daughter ordered the DVD and after 4 x 40 min episodes I’m hooked.

Its great not having to wait for the ads and event breaks allow pit stops! You only have to endure a brief break until the next album arrives.

Alias - Season 3

After a good first round, a second series of great third series comes a little trash. After one episode I realized how tired this program had become suddenly and doens’t improve, I fear.

I really wanted to go back and Quentin Tarantino to the sample (although a small cameo v.). Gervias The episode is, well, intresting (which plays an IRA terrorist, yes David Brent himself as a terrorist-and not done for laughs).

JJ Abrahms, was obviously too busy to be lost from giving this show the attention it needs. And boy, doe sit show.

Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and the Voyage of the Dawn

Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and the Voyage of the Dawn Since it was a very young child to be in love with the Narnia books from when my mother tried and failed to read to me and so I read at about five or six. But even before then I had a fascination with these wonderful programs.

I used to watch these at age two or three with my sister and my mother on a Sunday night, eating donuts in my robe. and has not lost anything in the last 10 or 15 years. the stories are incredible, of course, but so is the program.

although the effects are sometimes laughable and the acting is wonderful pace and place in the design. Reepicheep the mouse is the best character so much fun!

although this is not quite to the standard of the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe is not much. well worth seeing for anyone who has loved Narnia and for all children

Lost - Season 1 - Part 1

Lost - Season 1 - Part 1 I really wanted to watch Lost when it aired on Channel 4, but was absent when it began. When I heard all the many points of view “same” that people had of Lost I did not want her to go alone from 5 episodes in

If your planning on watching Lost all the way through, obviously, start from the beginning, especially with all the presentations of character and its own little history, which helps build the characterization that carn’t be missed. This “TV” has taken a step forward for television, as ‘24 ‘and’ Alias ‘that are more structured more like a film of a must see “TV Program’!, The only problem now is that my hands in the next 2 volumes!
